World Sexual Health Day (WSHD)

Today 4th September 2022,we celebrate the World Sexual Health Day.The day was launched in 2010 to promote sexual health and well-being for all communities. We mark this day by advocating for the promotion of sex workers’ sexual health.

The Day is central to and an important celebration of creating a world where sexual health is optimised for all.

The Global Network of Sex Work Projects (NSWP) Policy Brief: Recommendation for improving sex workers’ access to comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services: ‘Decriminalise sex work, HIV transmission, and same-sex sexual activity, and de-pathologise transgender identities. Criminalisation and pathologisation not only deter sex workers from seeking vital SRH services due to potential legal repercussions, but also reinforce stigma and discrimination in health care settings.’
