Joint advocacy strategy on advancing sex workers’ health and welfare programming in East and Southern Africa

ASWA’s delegation headed to  Johannesburg, South Africa in June 2023 for a planning meeting for the implementation of the Joint Advocacy Strategy on advancing sex workers’ health and welfare programming in East and Southern Africa to be launched in ICASA 2023. To kick off the discussion on the development of the joint advocacy strategy, the UNFPA and ASWA organised a regional multi-stakeholder consultation

The Goal of the strategy

Reduction of socio-economic barriers to livelihoods, human rights, health-care access and social protection for sex workers, including in humanitarian settings, in the East and Southern Africa region by June 2025.

The advocacy strategy will be launched at ICASA 2023.
