After several years of seeking legal status, finally, the African Sex Workers Alliance (ASWA) has been granted registration as an organisation.
ASWA, the Pan African alliance of sex worker-led organisations, was formed in 2009 with an initial membership drawn from 10 African countries.
Now, ASWA has a membership of over 80 sex worker-led groups from 32 African countries.
