ASWA undertook the Key Populations Representation Evidence and Advocacy for Change in Health Programme (KP REACH) which was an innovative Southern African regional initiative made possible by a Global Fund (GF) grant through Hivos.KP REACH was formulated to address the high levels of HIV infection among sex workers, men who have sex with men (MSM), transgender (TG) and women who have sex with women (WSW). The programme was implemented from 2016-2018 across eight SADC countries: Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The goal of KP REACH was to support a KP-led approach to reducing levels of HIV infections and HIV-related deaths among key populations (KPs) in Southern Africa through improved access to HIV prevention, testing and treatment services.
